Aspects that were Successful
Filming and scripting it would have to be the most successful part of our documentary because each of them only required one week to accomplish. Planning and location scouting was also easy because there only three main locations that we could actually use that suits our documentary and it was pretty much easy to scrip it because there was Bec – Director in the group.
To Prevent Copyright Issues
The documentary that our team has produced will not have any involvement with earning money so we have only produced it for our Certificate II Media. 75% of the material in the documentary have been filmed by us and 25% were taken from online, these online materials are all under the Creative Commons — Attribution 2.0 Australia so the materials are reusable as long as they’re not remixed or profited.
Aspects to be taken Account for Future Projects
- For Concept Development, we could have inserted more detailed information instead of throwing a big chunk of information that we couldn’t have in out documentary because of the time limit.
- During Pre-production, we could have planned our location better because we didn’t manage to have our documentary filmed in the computer lab due to unprepared planning and our host could at least have the responsibility to memorise her lines.
- Production was easy but we could have tried to brainstorm more ideas instead of making our host just sitting on a chair throughout the entire film.
- Lastly, Post-production was the hardest part because editing it really required us to delete a lot of footages that were in the script and editing the documentaries individually had us really use all our knowledge and creativity to what was rightfully legitimate, our version of the documentary.
Demonstration of Editing Techniques
As mentioned in Research on Editing, I’ve successfully incorporated the two editing techniques that I’ve considered. The montage shot has been used when my production team vox poxed the ‘street walkers’ and their answers showed some similarity which then I incorporated this into a montage. The J and L Cut was also easy to slide in as I used it before the interviews and during the vox poxs too.
